R.A. Connelly, Inc. was retained as the General Contractor by the US Army Corps of Engineers to build their new 8,000 sf Community Emergency Service Station in there Northern Training Area. This building will be the first building in the US Army to be LEED Platinum Certified by USGBC. To make this building LEED Platinum Certified, it has a geothermal heat pump system, solar hot water heater, solar wall system, clear story for natural light, rain water harvesting, insulated concrete form walls, exterior sun control devices, building automated system, and bio retention areas. The project is currently on schedule to be completed in June, 2010.
